We bought two puppies from the human society. One died of Parvo three days after we got him it was sad and surprising. He showed some symptons one day and died the next very quickly. We bleached everywhere the puppy has been and our other dog is about 5 months old and has been gotting parvo shots. We took him to the vet and he got another shot making the total 3. I feel helpless, we keep this poor dog confined to one room where the sick puppy did not go. I do not know what else I can do to help save this dog. I think he has already been exposed no matter what I do and I hate to sit around and wait till he shows signs. He has tested negative so far but I know there is an incubation period. The vet told us we cannot get another dog for at least a year. Is there something else I could be doing to prevent this virus??

I mean, we never see dead birds lying around on the ground. Do they build some nest to go to when they are about to die or someting?

My rabbit really likes to chew on my carpet. I know this is not good for her but I hate keeping her in her cage all the time. I have tried the "no" command and putting my hand between the carpet and her mouth, but that isn't working. I have read that rabbits don't like the smell of lavender and catnip. If I sprayed the carpet with a mixture of lavender oil and water, would that keep her from eating it? Or is there some better way of saving my carpet?

My cat, who is a five-year-old male tabby, seems to LOVE to inhale the smell of chlorine and bleach. He cannot seem to stay off of me after I have been swimming in a chlorinated pool, and we cannot clean anything in my house with bleach without having to close him out of the room. (When we do keep him out, he still tries to inhale the fumes through the bottom of the door.) When he is around the smell of chlorine or bleach, he always seems extremely... happy, I guess you'd say. His reaction is not unlike the response I've seen other (normal) cats have to catnip. I've never heard of another cat like this- are the fumes from the chlorine/bleach harmful to him? Do they give him some sort of a high? Have any of you had experience with anything like this before?
