I mean, we never see dead birds lying around on the ground. Do they build some nest to go to when they are about to die or someting?

once something dies it gets eaten very quickly by either mammals, other birds (scavengers) or insects.

You must be from the city; because when you live out in the country or on a farm - you do see dead birds laying on the ground. There are many species who prey on birds and often when a bird becomes weak they become food for another animal.

In view of the fact that we see birds by the hundreds in the sky; one would think that we should see at least half that many lying on the ground when they die. I can tell you are a deep thinker and this is a good question.

I have heard of a tree , out in the coutry , where buzzards go and die. I'm told the ground around it is littered with their skeletons. I don't know if this is true, or not.

Dead birds are carried off by small animals. That is one reason you don't see them. Also, they are more likely to be away from where people live, when they die.

Not sure, but once at a tennis court I saw a dead seagull lying on the ground. Poor thing.

When birds get sick they are sometimes seen on the ground...they hide in bushes and sometimes literally fall out of the tree.

EXACTLY-
i thought about that too. you only see a few dead about, here and there. i think they eat each other or a bird fairy takes them away.

i would have to go with the Bird Fairy.
