I think they do eventually. A lot of cats don't live to an "old" age for various reasons.

My 22 yr old cat has a lot of white in her chin and bib. She is a basically a tortoiseshell. The hair on her body is quite grey in places.

My 14 yr old Kinsey started getting a patch of grey hair on one side a couple of years ago.

My cat is getting white hair at the end of her tail and around her muzzle and even a little all over as she ages. It's just like grey hair and people some people get it and others don't. Dogs are more prone to it, I don't know why but dogs just get grey as they age, it might have something to do with showing seniority to the other members of the pack.

Some do and some don't. I have 2 black cats who are brothers...about 8 1/2 years old. Blinky's whiskers turned white about a year ago and the hair around his ears did too. But Stinky's whiskers and hair are perfectly black. On the other hand, my whiskers started turning white in my 40s. I am trying to convince Blinky to use Grecian Formula for Men...if it works on him, then I might try it.

A cat will live much longer than most dogs will live, therefore, their hairs wil start to grey much later than on a dog.

They do!

But if your dog is large, it may have a shorter life span, thus grey earlier.
