i have two in a almost cycled 55 gal. they have cleaned out the brown algae (thanks out there), but is'nt a little algae healthy?

I am opposed to using a collar that "shocks" my dog, but there are two other options of anti-bark devices. There is one that sprays a citronella out of it towards the dog, and there is another that emits a high-pitched tone that they don't like. Which one works better? It's a 7-pound 15 week old Shih-tzu.

also - does the one that sprays citronella make my house smell that way?? Yuck!

Why would people lets their dogs lick their face? Do they know what else the dog has licked, like their genitals. It is so nasty!!!!

Someone left two dogs at my Mom's house about 3 months ago. He stayed for about 5-6 weeks and then moved out. Says he wants the dogs, but now can't be found. If he were to leave them in a kennel it would have been about ten dollars a day for EACH dog. Nothing was signed stating that he would pay room and board for the dogs, but he would have spent a couple of thousand of dollars at the kennel -- if they would have kept them that long-- which I doubt seriously. Can she do anything to recoup any monies for care short of ransom?

Vet gave her shots for worms and a rash but she still feels bad. She is now shaking sometimes like she has a fever and her teeth chatter when she does this. She just is not her frisky self. We live in the country but sh has had all of her shots. What could be wrong? Fever maybe? Maybe bit by something? The vet just gives shots and says he does not know why she had the rash..but the rash is now gone. Could it be that she is just recovering frokm the 4 shots he gave her a week ago?

Not sure of the age of puppy, she's a rescue. Probably about 7 weeks old. She's supposedly a boxer/pit bull mix. She will eat food like crazy, I mean just vacuum it up. But she will not drink water at all, no matter what I do! I ended up adding water to her food to force her to have some, but when I try to get her to drink out of bowl, or with a medicine dropper (I didn't have a bottle with a nipple) she will absolutely refuse and fight me to get away from the water! She did drink milk the first day, before I knew not to give her milk. I am a new puppy owner, I really, really need some help here!

My boxer is 5 months old. Hes acting like his tail is hurting or iching. Is this normal? I looked at and looks good. He didnt eat all of his morning meal.

I love all animals but why do greyhounds just because are no good at racing get treated so badly.What gives some people the right to dump or kill them because of that.It makes me so angry.
