Someone left two dogs at my Mom's house about 3 months ago. He stayed for about 5-6 weeks and then moved out. Says he wants the dogs, but now can't be found. If he were to leave them in a kennel it would have been about ten dollars a day for EACH dog. Nothing was signed stating that he would pay room and board for the dogs, but he would have spent a couple of thousand of dollars at the kennel -- if they would have kept them that long-- which I doubt seriously. Can she do anything to recoup any monies for care short of ransom?

I thank your mom for taking the dogs in. they needed a good home and she has been that. If you can get ahold of the aninmal protection people they will try and hunt the guy down and prosecute him for abondoning the animals. I hope your mom finds in her heart to continue to be kind to the animals and give them the love they need. Do you know if something bad happened to this person? I have watched animal planet and they are very tough on people who abondon animals. What kinds of dogs are they? Do they need a new home?

Good luck trying to get it. You would have to go to small claims court and hope he shows up. You may get a judgement against him, but getting him to actually PAY is the hard part!!!!!!!!!! And you need to know where he is to serve him!!!!
