Why would people lets their dogs lick their face? Do they know what else the dog has licked, like their genitals. It is so nasty!!!!

Ya, people whose do not own a dog don't understand it and think is dirty. If you love your dog so much, you will not think so much about it and you will not mind or bother it at all. Some even mouth to mouth kiss their dog. And I do believe animals' body have their own way of detoxify.

Actually, it's a proven fact that dog's have a type of bacteria that we don't that kills all the germs in it's mouth every 3 to 5 seconds, if you want something nasty to lick your face get a human.

It IS like a kiss.
And actually, dog spit is very sanitary. It is a primitive sealant for wounds, and there have been stories of where a person was bleeding and the dog licked the wound, and it sealed so the person lived.
'sides, lots of people touch their OWN "genitals", as you put it. And then they shake hands with other people.
Guess it all evens out, eh?

This is just the way that a dog shows affection. One of the few animals that actually can show love. Have you ever kissed anyone? Do you know where their mouth has been? LOL I know what you're talking about, dogs have nasty habits, but that's how they clean theirselves. Best of luck to you........

It doent matter. You cant be cruel to a pet for licking and loving you. It licks you when it likes you. Its kind of like a kiss in dog type of form.

woof wooof , why nasty for humans but not nasty for me. Afterall humans tend to do 'licking, blow jobs, eating' etc when it comes to sex? Do I complain?
Research proves that my tongue is cleaner than yours because my body temperature wont allow bacterias to mutate and develop easily as much as compared to humans. It has an 'agent' to heal my wound etc.
Thus, I am not prone to get deseases! Plus, I have more shots than you human in this lifetime etc!
If you dont like us to lick you, give us some peanut butter and stuff it in Kong!:) Take us to the beach instead!

I absolutely love my dogs, loved the cats I have had, also pet rats BUT I don't lick their face's & they can lick & kiss my hands, arms, knee's whenever they want to show me their love but not my face !

I have heard that a dogs mouth is actually cleaner that a humans. However, I find it hard to believe after they lick their own assholes.

dogs,like wolves,lick your face as a greeting and a show of submission.puppies lick thier moms face so mom will feed it(throw up her food).if you study wolves,you will see this.dogs are just wolves in a cuddly form.my dogs are most likely healthier then you are(nothing personal) and frankly,i like my dogs better then most people i know.

A Vet told me that a dog's mouth is cleaner than a humans. But a cat's..dirtier than a toilet. Just keep fido away from the manure heap.
