I used to use diazinon around the perimeter of the house but it is no longer available. Other granular pesticides are not working nearly as well. I can take a shovel and turn over the dirt in any area around the house and it explodes with ants.

My waiting room is quite warm, and is made worse by multiple indoor floodligts.

Are there any alternative type lights or bulbs that can be used that will give light but not increase heat at the same time?

I'm looking in the $500-$700 price range. Preferably stainless steel with Rotisserrie. It will be used often for a family of four. I have the Consumer Reports reviews but when I do a search for some of the grills they recommend, the user reveiws aren't the greatest. Any suggestions?

I'm currently making a stool (no jokes please) and I've tried sitting on it for about half an hour and my bum went numb.

On some chairs I've noticed an indentation pattern that is broadly speaking - bum shaped. What is the best indentation pattern I can use to stop my stool giving me a numb bum?

Any direction to web sites that deal with that area of carpentry would be welcome. Also what is the correct name for an 'indentation pattern' as I've chosen to call it?

Recently bought a new lawnmower. Because of a wrist problem and inability to get anyone to take it out of the car it was left in the car's back seat, on its side because that was how it fit, for several days.

My son finally decided to get ambitious today. He came in and said the mower is covered in oil. Before we go any farther with this -- do we have a problem, Houston?

I'm headed out this weekend to a few for the first time, and was just lookin to see what kind of deals I could find! Thanks!

Hello, I am looking to purchase a welder for my garage, nothing fancy, i'm not fabricating motorcycle frames or anything like that, just a simple machine to have in the garage for light fab. work and repairs. I'v been away from a welder for quite some time now so i'm going to consider myself a beginner.
Can anyone recommend a good machine for a beginner, not too expensive. Preferably wire feed. Thanks!

After taking a shower (or running water in the shower in general), a strange odor comes from the shower drain and makes the whole bathroom smell. The odor is hard to describe, but the best I can describe is like garbage and/or a sewer. Sometimes the odor is really strong, other times it is hardly there, but I notice it because I am aware of it.

I don't think it is the water itself becuase neither the sink nor the toilet have the same smell coming from them.

Anyone know what it could be and how I can fix it? thanks

I live in Colorado and I hear the A/C of a lot of my neighbors running.
during the day it's OK if someone's home and it's very hot. it was 85F to 90F the last few days and we still didn't turn the A/C on .
During the day close your blinds and at night open yoiur windows and let fresh air come into your house.
I don't understand why a lot of people are still using their A/C so much in Colorado.

The wood we need to get rid of is termite infested wood from crates.
The crates are the kind at places like lowes and home depot that they put the stuff on like bricks and such to move around witht the machine. Do garbage companies take these crates for example?

We do live in a rural area, we each have 200 ft of frontage and all our lots are at least 5 acres. So when my neighbor started putting up a fence around their front yard I didn't think much of it. They started with round posts and now they are putting up T posts! I can't believe it. We have NICE homes. The home my neighbor lives in is older and is probably a $200,000- home. The house right next to her is newer and is probably about a $500,000- home as is mine. They certainly aren't mansions but t posts? I run a boarding stable from my home. I am very cautious and make certain things are kept very nice. I don't do anything (not even to the common fence) without first discussing it with my neighbors and then I do everything I can to make things nice for all of us. Granted, I have more at stake than anyone else. Would you be upset too? I wasn't upset when I thought she was putting up a nice wooden three rail fence or something similar.

I expect this has been asked before but my garden is full of them. All the bulbs have been eaten, all the leaves on the plants have holes in them, I crunch over them down the path - the snails. At night I could not believe it the lawn is a sea of slugs. I cannot put pellets down because I have a dog and am worried she will eat them.

I have had a hedgehog staying in the dog kennel recently and the results have been slightly better but over the week-end he/she has moved next door and I really could cry there seems to have been an almost dramatic mass move into my garden. I need a solution - fast, please can anyone help?
