We do not have the space to plant a Gooseberry Bush, but have a large patio area which we place pots on. Are Gooseberry Plants able to survive and produce a crop from a container or pot? In which case which type of compost would be best to grow them in and what type of care is required?

My neighbour has recently starting dumping rubbish in my back garden. When I approached him about it he punched me squarely in the face. Obviously I was a bit shocked so I decided to get him back by posting spoons covered in marmite through his letterbox.

He has now started to release badgers into my house through a hole in the connecting loft, is this legal?

I have just moved into a new house and my monthly utility bills are through the roof!! In my old house I used to pay £30 a month each on the gas and the electric.

My new house is costing a whopping £100 each. The house is slightly larger so there are more radiators but to be fair I have turned off the radiators in the attic conversion as we don't use that room and the heating is on a timer. It comes on 1st thing in the morning before I get up and goes off when I leave for work and comes back on at 5 until 8 in the evening.

Does anyone have any ideas? I have contacted N Power and they say based on the readings the bill is correct. The radiators appear to be fairly new although the pipework looks like it could be the original stuff as it is behind the walls. The boiler is a back boiler and as it is behind the fireplace I have no idea on its age.

Does anyone know of a company in Bristol that can come and check your energy efficiency?

Im a first time buyer, and i'm not really getting on well with the seller,

My completion day is tomorrow for the house and first things im going to do is take a gas and electric meter reading and then startup me with say NPower for example... but do i have to find out from the seller who her current provider is? or if i ring up someone like Npower can they take over the utility services and then do they notify whoever the current provider is?

I really dont want to have to ask the seller who she is with and im guessing thats not the way anyway because some people never even have contact with the seller its all through solicitors right?

animal sex you stumbled upon? I was just walking by and thought it was one roach...but I was surprised it was two.

BTW, they do it "doggie style".

Hey! It's nearly the end of Summer here in Australia and I can't wait for it to be over! Apparently it has been the hottest, driest Summer ever! Everyone has thousands of ants in their homes and workplaces and even frogs, lizards, etc (looking for water, poor things!).

I'm not a fan of Summer at the best of times. What do YOU hate about the hot weather?

My husband and I are looking into buying a new bed.

He's about 6'1" and I'm 5'9". He sleeps on his stomach or side, I sleep on my side. We both typically sleep with our arms up (his around his pillow, mine usually over my face), so I don't know how much width to allow. I'm normally pretty comfortable in narrow spaces (like sleeping on couches) but I think he needs more elbow room because of his pillow hugging.

At 73 inches, he should be just about short enough for our full sized bed (75 inches, according to what I've seen) but he always ends up with his feet hanging off the foot of the bed. That can't be healthy, can it?

I think that we should probably get a king sized bed. Which is the "normal" king size, Cal or eastern? Which is easier to get sheets and stuff for?

Would you keep a lawn maintenance company that you are not really happy with; but they do all your neighbors yards too?
Is it a big deal to have all the yards mowed on the same day?

If you recieved advertising from a full service landscape maintenance company wanting you and your neighbors to switch over to thier service; with the intentions of doing yours and all the neighbors on the same day...... would you follow up and give it a chance to work?

How do you get rid of gnats?! They've invaded my apartment and I can't put the plants outside yet. I've tried the insecticide soap, and it doesn't work. Must be animal friendly and guaranteed not to kill the 30 year old plant! Thanks!

Referral from a friend?
Saw them working in your neighborhood and flagged them down?
Flyers/ doorhangers?

What got their phone number into your hands?

I looked at potterybarn, walmart, and target! I can't find any nice dinnerware. I'd like to find something sturdy for everyday use, but not plain and boring... Does anyone know of any good sites that have dinnerware sets? Give me as many links as possible please! =D

Okay, so I live in Wisconsin, and on the Fox River. As of late there have been these bugs in my house, and more particularly in MY ROOM! They look kind of like crickets, brownish-tan, and triangular. They can fly, but they never really seem to. My friend from down the road, who also lives on the river knows what I'm talking about, but friend from the same town, not by the river doesn't, so I assume they come off the water. This was verified at the YMCA when a lady told me that she knows the bugs and she lives on the water (next town over from me) and that she heard they came in through the pipes...? I don't know, but they're creepy and freaking me out because I do not like killing things and I hate feeling like they're crawling all over me! UGH! So, any details on them would be super duper because I don't even know where to begin researching them... THANKS!

I am a single mother with a 6 year old and a 3 year old and live in a very small, cheaply built apartment with non-existant security. I have permission from my landlord (at my own expense, of course) to do some upgrades, but I am at a loss as to what to do. We live in a bad neighborhood for our area (upper middle-class,predominately white town of 3000), where the crime is mostly drug addicts looking for things to steal to make a quick buck or trade for drugs, or bored kids. Being a single mother, I am very concerned for my children's safet, seeing as we have several in the area that are on the sex offenders list. I have a lab who sat on the front porch and watched my car without me, so I know that he is useless in this situation.

Thanks.

I'd like to buy an inflatable mattress for a friend who will be going camping for a few days. But the air pumps are a bit expensive so is there a place that I can take it to get filled or can I even do it by mouth?

Due to the rising costs of homes, I find the idea of buying a home is becoming increasingly out of reach. I have heard that an "Earth Shelter" could be a way to go. I live near Montreal, Quebec, Canada, where the winters are below zero, but I heard that the earth under the ground is warmer, and provides insulation.

Please contact me if you have built one, and can tell me what your experience has been, good links to visit, what the estimated cost is, etc....What are the pros, what are the cons ? I live in my van most of the time, and travel, because I refuse to keep paying off someone else's mortgage by renting when in the end it will never be "my" home.

What type of terrain should I be looking for ?

Im prepared to do this off the "beaten track", in the woods, solar panel, wood stove, organic garden, the whole nine yards, far from the Wars and slaughterhouses of madmen in the guise of politicians !

I am writing on behalf of a seventeen year old living on benefits and EMA. Flat is big and has overnight storage heaters, it is literally baltic, she can only afford £10 per week on her key meter and the storage heaters eat up far too much of her £10.00. If she switched off the storage heaters totally, Would a halogen heater be more economical for her or a calor gas heater (if they are still available) ?Thanks
