So I'm thinking about getting this appartment downtown and its is great. Love the floor plan, the finishes, the price. One thing bother me though. The wall that my bed would be up against is the common wall between me and the appartment next to me. Now, this normally wouldn't bother me, but the room on the other side of my bed's wall is the bathroom, and to make matters worse its the wall that the other person's toliet is on. So here's my concern, I am afraid that I will be spending all this money a month for a great place, but evey time my neighbor goes to the bathroom, I will not only hear the flushing, but him or her peeing. yuck. I can't really put the bed anywhere else becasue its a loft and this is the little "nook" part of the space where the bed goes. I have never been in an appartment before, always rented a home. What do you guys think, am I being paranoid? Just seems like being that close to another person's toilet is gross.
Thanks

Okay so I move into an house w/ 2 acres in NC and the first thing I want to do is plant a huge vegetable garden. Huge problem, the thought of a snake terrifies me. Beyond our grassy patch of yard is wooded area covered w/ under brush. I have a 9 yr. old who wants to play back there and a baby turning 1 that I was hoping would spend time with mommy planting and caring for the garden. To make matters worse, I always imagined a man made pond too. It seems like I am creating the perfect enviornment for snakes. I am willing to try anything if it will keep them out of the yard? I need to know what really WORKS. What can I do to have peace of mind and allow my little ones to enjoy the yard too?

Spring has started here in South East London. Early blossoms, catkins and buds on trees turning green and ready to burst into leaf. Also, quite a lot of daffodils.

We have a leak in one fo our walls and my husband accidentally put a small hole in it, I guess they have been breeding in it, coz now we have millions of the little horrors, in 3 different varieties (lucky us!) no matter what i do, they keep breeding and multiplying, a few minutes ago I even found an albino in the shower! How can we get rid of them? we have tried extermination, sprays, baits boric acid, but apparently its not just here, its the whole town, and breeding season. HELP!!!!!

I've heard that to carry a fridge with it on it's side etc ruins it so that it can't function. We want to collect one from someone but only have an ordinary car. Any expert advice really appreciated. Thank you

I have a bamboo that is turning yellow, but I'm not over watering it. Could it be the heater vent blowing on the plant? Or is sitting in the window keeping it too cold? Also, its leaning...am I supposed to be pruning it? If so, how? Can I pot the pieces I prune off? How do I re-pot it? How much water and how often?

I have recently become aware of a devoted grandfather's struggle to find justice for the brutal beating of his 16 month old granddaughter by her father. Please read his story! There is a link on the page where you can go to sign a petition that will be brought to the Mississippi Supreme Court. PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION!!! If I'm living in my car down south and I need constant power for a fan, fridge, tv, recharging things, etc... what do I need and how much does it cost? Do those solar power panels work? Can you place them on the roof lying under the blazing sun? And then I can plug my applicances in? How much do I need to spend on those? Or will it not work? I don't know. Help me out. No smart alic comments, only answers. Thanx.

I understand that other doorbells etc can cause interference & trigger ringing. The thing with this doorbell is the normal doorbell ring "ding-dongs", however when it has chimed in the night it has been the "big ben" chime! The normal doorbell "ding-dong" has never been triggered by anything else. As far as I can tell it's not supposed to have multiple chimes. Can anyone shed any light on this??

There were bugs in my flour and other carbohydrate foods. They were tiny, pill shaped, and black. I've gotten rid of the food but they are still crawling around in the cabinets. I need a safe way to get rid of them.... since it is the kitchen I do not want to use pesticides or other chemicals that can get into food and potentially cause problems for humans. How do I go about doing this and what should I use?

What is the best way to get the water to stay in the shower and not all over the floor when you have a curtain/liner vs a shower door. I've always had shower doors before and now I find that the water gets all over the floor even when the curtain/liner is drawn shut. I'm tempted to get a door, but since I rent I didnt' want to invest that much money into my bathroom. Any suggestions on types of curtains, liners, rods that may help this matter?
