yes it is ok as long as you dont lay it on the coils itself ie the back and as long as it stands up unplugged and upright for 30- 40 minutes this allows the oil in the condenser to return to its normal position

Mornin'
I'm not an expert, but I have transported a fridge freezer lay down in the back of a van.
That was many years ago, and we have since moved it from our kitchen to a basement utility room. and it's still going!
Hope this helps!
Best of luck!

It can be done. There is a catch. let it stand back up in the upright position for at least a day before you even plug it in. I am assuming the distance to be hauled is not too great. for every hour it spends on its side or back, figure a day of stand time. I could explain why, but I don't think you really need to know that, just how to get it done.

The only way to be completely safe is to empty and turn off the unit AT LEAST 24 hours before transport. Then leave it in position for this period again, before turning it on. If it is old though, this might not be enough.

You can transport it on its side, just avoid laying it on its back because you can cause major damage. when you have got it to your property put it in place and leave turned off for 8-12 hours to allow for the gasses to settle. i know this because my friend works for a removal company.

Don't transport it on it's back and as long as you stand it in it's new location for 24 hours before turning on again you should be fine.

As long as you don't lay it on it's back you'll be fine, just let it stand for an hour or so once you get it back home before you plug it in and switch it on.
