I understand that other doorbells etc can cause interference & trigger ringing. The thing with this doorbell is the normal doorbell ring "ding-dongs", however when it has chimed in the night it has been the "big ben" chime! The normal doorbell "ding-dong" has never been triggered by anything else. As far as I can tell it's not supposed to have multiple chimes. Can anyone shed any light on this??

This happened when we bought our house a year ago, and for a few minutes I thought we were being haunted! It happened randomly, every few days, but finally I realized that it was the doorbells way of asking for new batteries. Make sure you replace BOTH at the same time.

And, though it is unlikely, someone in your neighborhood may have the same frequency doorbell and midnight visitors. If changing the batteries doesn't help, you may want to go to lowes and invest $20 in a doorbell with a different frequency!

anyone ring my door in the middle of the night will get more than a hello, open the chime up & pull the pins back well its wireless so its probably not the same as a normal one, it could be low on batteries, maybe its not even the door bell because whos ringing the thing in the middle of the night & if its just going off at random its gonna go off during the day to, turn the door bell off at night & see what happens. im sure these things aint got clocks

did you clip some of the wires on the button and the doorbell unit? many ppl dont. there s usually five prongs in the back of each component. make them the same and you wont get your neighbors doorbell-hopefully. as for the different ring, im lost
