I guess it has something to do with a bed from the picture I saw.

Bed linens-1950s Duvette Cover This is a great Duvette cover. It is from the 1950s and would look great in a shabby chic room! 100% cotton with metal zipper. Zipper measures 28 inches long. Decorated with pink flower with green leaves and a small geometric design for the background. Measures 74 by 74 inches.

A duvet (pronounced /duːveɪ/, from the French duvet /dyvɛ/ "down") or doona is a type of bedding— a soft flat bag traditionally filled with down or feathers, or a combination of both and used on a bed as a blanket.

Duvets reduce the complexity of making a bed, as it is a single covering instead of the combination of sheets, blankets, and quilts or other bed covers, which is traditional in many parts of the world. The cover is called a "duvet cover" or a "quilt cover".

Nowadays, a duvet is sometimes filled with silk, wool, or artificial fibers (such as polyester batting or other artificial material). It is sometimes confused with a comforter, although comforters go on top of the traditional sheets and blankets and are primarily decorative while duvets are used alone.

also can be window blinds or coverings

In North America, duvet covers are an attractive and simple way to dress up an older comforter or down duvet (sometimes called a down quilt).

Top sheets are needed because the duvet covers are meant to be left on long-term, as they are not easily changed. This is especially true with larger comforters/duvets.

In parts of Europe, they are used instead of a top sheet, and are washed with the bottom sheet regularly. The set that I had when I lived in Germany had buttons at the top and slipped on the duvet easily after laundry day.

Once the cover was on, the bed was easy to make because all I had to do was fluff the duvet each morning and 'voila'! The tendency to split the king-size bed into two joined twin beds also meant that the duvets were single sized. This also made it easier to change the duvet covers.

Duvet - it is a sort of "envelope" that you stuff a comforter in as a cover. It is a way to protect and liven up a down comforter, or to change the appearance of an old comforter when it is time to redo your linen color scheme.
