Cayenne supposedly, but it did not work for me. After trying a billion things, I tried a $4.59 product from Home Depot that works like a charm. It is the "Combat Ant Killing Gel". Looks like a syringe. They will run away from it at first but then you will not see them anymore. One package got rid of many colonies of ants in my home.

One thing I know works is "believe it or not" Sweet n Low. It contains aspertane which was first formulated as ant poison.

They carry it to their nests and eat it and die.

something better= salt= ants wont walk on salt I found that out 4 years ago.
