Yes, it is most likely looking for moisture. It could be a tick or maybe a little palmetto bug that isn't that old yet. If it is a tick, don't sweat there could be way worse bugs, if it's a palmetto bug, than it is looking for moisture. They can live 2 weeks without there heads, a few months without food, but less than a week without water!

In the southern U.S., it is often called a Palmetto Bug or a Waterbug. Sightings have been reported in the northeast U.S., such as in New York City, and in southeast Canada, such as in Montreal where it is otherwise known as an American Cockroach.

They are only palmetto bugs when you have company. As soon as they leave, their roaches.

Unfortunately, Florida where I live. Ughhh...But I think remember the same bug up north being called a roach or water bug.
