I live in a one bedroom highrise condo. I pay for all utilities (gas, electric, water) in one monthly condo fee. With the high cost of oil this year, is it better to use a small portable heater that I plug into an outlet to stay warm than to turn up the thermostat?

For the past week or so we have had a problem with bees at our front door. They are every where. We live in east Texas and our temps have been around 70-75 during the day.
What can I use to make them GO AWAY? I've tried vinegar and ammonia but no luck.

i did it about a week ago. the roses seem less affected than the gerberas. A few of them have gotten a few black spots but they seem fine despite that? the gerbera however has gotten dark discolourrations and looks really bad. the leaves have dry spots on them. i removed some of the leaves that looked beyond repair but i left the others. Should i just leave the plants for a while and let time play its course??? i think ive gone a bit overboard in my search for perfect roses and gerberas. even though i followed the instructions on the container i seem to have really botched up my plants. I also gave it to one of my plumbagos and it has shriveled up

Does anyone please have any success stories regarding using a pest control service, considering they have a guarantee supposedly? I am scheduled for service this coming Saturday and havent been able to sleep there (been staying with a friend) due to friggin disgusting roaches, tried sprays and advice on other stuff and it hasnt worked for me. I moved in two weeks ago, contacted leaving landlord voicemail, she never responded. So please, they are going to be charging me like 95 down and 80 ev. 2 months and I dont want to waste time or my money if this isn't even going to be a success.

We have not finished unpacking and we have found mice droppings. We have only found them in one particular location...in the basement work room. We set a trap caught one and then found more droppings in the same location. Before we actually moved in the house we found droppings and we also found a dead chipmunk in the house so we assumed that the dropping was from the chipmunk and that maybe the chipmunk had gotten in by accident when the realtor was showing the house or something....now we realize that that probably was not the case....what can we do before we end up with a real infestation. It is December and I know that they like to come in out of the cold. I heard about the sealing up of the food, but I jsut want to get rid of them completely!!!!! How can I possibly determine where they are coming from.

I have a new sewing machine, purchased about 6 months ago; the model number is 5040. I do adore it; the only problem is there's no overedge option/foot. Now I'm assuming I can't just buy an overedge foot if there's not option for it? If I'm wrong do let me know. But what is the next best thing I can do to sew my own clothes and for them not to look amateurish, using my machine, without doing the overedge? Would it be better if I traded my machine for another one and pay a little more money? Or should I even consider buying a serger? Any and all input will be immensely appreciated!
