I think it's actually better for you because I believe they produce more oxygen.

a healthy plant any where in the house is a good idea,the bedroom is no exception,we can benefit from the oxygen produced by the plant which in turn makes use of the carbon-di-oxide we exhale,however recently sprayed plants had better be left out doors for the first few days.

Actually, it's very good for both you and the plants. The plants produce oxygen, which we use to breathe and when we exhale, we produce carbon dioxide, which is used by the plants to keep them green.

no, in fact its the best thing you can do provide better air quality for your room. and since youre spending 8 hours a day brething in that room, its a very good idea, just make sure and keep the plant soil free of fungus and insect infestations

No. Infact they add oxygen. It also adds beauty. Besides feng shui experts say its good to have "nature" in your room.
But avoid stagnation of water as it invites mosquitoes and fungus. Cleanliness is absolutely necessary.
