I bought my boyfriend one of those video rocker chairs for Christmas, and I want to wrap it in a box so I don't give away the present by just wrapping the chair. The chair's dimensions are about 30X22X20, so I need a HUGE box!

Moving company or a corrugated cardboard box company (they're a LOT cheaper than U-Haul!).

They make them about that size with a hanging rod in the middle for clothes, but I forget what they call them.

Yeah. Wardrobe box - that was it.

Other thing you can shoot for is someone who's moving in and unpacking, but they usually don't have that many wardrobe boxes and because they are so expensive, they usually keep them.

Sounds like you want a lot of boxes. I'd definitely check out a box company. They even delivered the next day at no extra charge and was about 1/3 the price of a moving company.

If your local supermarket or retail outlet wont let you take them for free (they usually dont mind because they just send them to a recycling depot anyway, but be sure to ask first) I suggest going to a removalist company, a friend of mine works for a couple of companies & he says they charge between AU$2 and AU$20. For the size you are asking for you're probably looking at about AU$5 a box. They are pretty sturdy boxes, so worth the money, especially if you are packing something with a heavy weight.
Try a search in the yellow pages too.

UHaul
They have 24x24x24
Or buy a wardrobe box and cut it to fit.
Just split the sides (at the corners) down to the length you want.
Then fold over and trim the flaps.
If that's not wide enough take the 24x24x24 and splice them together.

A place like UHaul, or any place that rents out trucks like that. Another place I know for sure has any type of box you need is storage places.

Look in the yellow pages of your phone book for box stores, u- haul, or companies that specialize in shipping containers.

Go to your local large surface hardware store such as Home Depot. they always have large boxes but you might have to ask them to reserve it for you. If you can't get one there, try your local appliance store. What, may I ask, are you going to do with the box???? Just curious............
