There are two basic types of ants. One type loves proteins; the other, sugars. To find out what type you have, place a small ball of peanut butter next to some sugar water. The ants who love protein will love the peanut butter.

Once you know what type of ant is present, you'll know better how to get rid of them. The most common ones in a house are sugar loving ants. These are the ones that are the target of liquid ant killer, powders, boric acid, cloves and chaulk. To effectively kill protein loving ants, mix peanut butter with "taro" which is a liquid ant-killing product. The peanut butter will attract the ants and the taro will kill the colony.

If you have ever eaten at or near your computer, the ants are able to find small bits of food that you may not be able to see. They may also be attracted to your sweat.

I wish you all the best.

Try this Place a perimitor of Flour around the inside of your house. You know kinda like the boric acid. Put a line (you can use a small funel for this) arround the edge of the floors next to the walls. Something with the flour freaks them out. I had a similar problem and it worked. You do have to keep putting the flour down but afte a while the ants will leave

Start cleaning the areas where you find the ants with a mixture of white vinager and water, about 2 tablespoons per half gallon of water. Repeat as needed.

yes pour salt all around the outside of your house and if that don't work then time to get a new house...the ants cannot stand walking across it same with flour it will work too ants cannot stand the flour sticking to there feet or u can get a bunch of glue broads and put them around and see if that stops them it works well for spiders and mice and such
