I am wondering if I can leave after shave, perfume, alcohol (beer?) in our house without heat. We will get temperatures below zero as well as below freezing outside. We will be back when the weather is quite warm so it will thaw for sure. What things must I absolutely remove? What about shampoos, household spray cleaners, bleach, toilet bowl cleaner ....please let me know every liquid or gel you think I can leave and every one I should remove!

I have a bathroom in my bedroom. My little sister was in my room playing on the computer and had to use the bathroom. Well, she didnt realize that I was out of toilet paper. She found a roll of paper towles under the sink (I use them to clean) and used one of them.

The problem is that our toilets are VERY sensitive. This happened 2 days ago. Their is nothing visablly stuck in the toilet (I plunged it and it went down) but the water still wont go down when we flush. It rises to the top and I have to turn the knob to shut the water off before the toilet over flows. After i shut the water off, i go away for about an hour, the water slowly drains from the toilet..and then i turn the water back on - let it fill up, and try flushing it again. I'm assuming that the paper towel got cloged somwhere further down than what I can see.

I dont want to tell my mom quite yet becuase my step-dad will yell at both my sister and I. (I'm 20 years old, shes 6). How can I avoid needing a plummer?

I came home tonight and I live on the 3rd floor of a 3 floor apartment building and the stench on the 3rd floor is unbearable. I have lived at this building for almost 3 years andit has had it's fair share of smells but the stench normally doesn't penetrate our apartment. Tonight we came home and the 3rd floor reeked of ungodliness yuck.

I called the maintenance "emergency" line and he came and told me he couldn't pinpoint the smell and left, while the 3rd floor still reeks of dead bodies and asshole. I'm not a whiner about small things but I can't sleep because of the horrid smell.
I have a high tolerance but this is bad.

What else can I do?

I am on the 2nd floor of a 3 story building. The layouts for my unit and the one below are the same. I inspected my kitchen and don't see any evidence of a leak. The association has asked me to call a plumber. Is it my responsibility to call a plumber?

cooking oil, car transmission oil, olive oil ?

ive tried them all but they still dry out in a month or two which causes the motor to jam which in turns loads the motor which eventualy leads to a useless burned motor.

suggest any oil that is usually found in all homes if you can

My 15-month old sleeps there. We took her out of the room for the night so we can let the room air out and hopefully the smell will go away by tomorrow. Would the dying motor give off a smell or may something else have happened?

I replaced all of my bulbs in my home with CFC bulbs... aside from the misrepresentation on the packaging (supposed to give off the equivalant of a 65W bulb, yet the rooms are much darker now) the bulbs i installed in the celing fan fixture in my living room flicker when the celing fan is not on...

the bulbs are in tight, i double checked, when i noticed this flickering...

the fan is made by hunter, and has a remote control to control fan speed and to turn on/off the light, it does not have a dimmer function... it is also on a 3-way switch...

the flickering never occured with standard bulbs, and never occurs when the fan is on high, regardless what direction the fan spins in...

My wife and I just bought a new house and noticed one of the cabinets is loose.

I'm thinking I can just re-screw it back up, but in a new hole.

I also noticed it only seems to be screwed into the drywall.

Isn't it supposed to be screwed into a stud?

This might seem like a stupid question to some of you, but I'm no "Mr Fix-It" to say the least.

Any input is appreciated.

I am moving into an apartment in AS IS condition in order to get a discounted rental payment. I went in today to take a look at things to add onto my list of to do's and decided to take a real good look at the carpet. First, its dark red, a combination of red and maroon. Secondly, when opening the blinds to see the carpet I discovered there are dark colored stains all over the carpet. Then I took off my shoes to see how it feels and its hard. There are spots that feel soft and somewhat fluffy as this carpet should, however, the majority of the carpet is stiff to walk on and kind of sticky feeling. I am going to rent a rug doctor to try to shampoo the carpet real well, but need to know if there is a suggested carpet cleaning chemical for this issue or a suggested carpet cleaning method to use for this type of situation? Any help will be greatly appreciated! The landlord claims to have already cleaned the

I went into the bathroom and the tub was filling up with brown water bubbling up through the drain. It's still filling up.

The sink next to it is not clogged and it doesn't have water in it.

But the toilet fills up with water when you flush it, but it won't complete a flush. I tied plunging but I don't even think it's a clog.

HELP!!!!!!!
