I just bought a honda tiller from my friend. He bought it brand new and used it one time. its been sitting for about a year. I took it home and started it up for about 2 minutes and it died on me. I've looked everything over.. it has gas and oil and DID start for a minute... I check the plug and it has spark.. Does anybody have an idea as to what it could be?

I have several light switch cover plates that are bowing out. There doesn't seem to be any pressure on them as if I overtightened the screws. It seems like heat or something else is causing them to bend out. I did find a way to straighten them though... Place them in the oven at 225 degrees for about 10 minutes or so. Flat now but why did they bend in the first place.....

Yesterday, I put too much oil in my lawn mower and clogged the air filter. I drained the oil and replaced the air filter. It finally came back on, but the smoke is still there and now it smells like its burning. I am afraid that I may blwo the engine. Help!

There is a rule in place that says Air conditioners must be hoisted by crane onto the roof.I cannot find any mention of heating/air conditioning appliances, installation or otherwise mentioned in my copy of the association rules. I have spoken to several board members who all seem to know "matter-of-factly" that taking anything up through the third floor opening is a "finable" offense.
Many have explained to me that someone dropped a unit, thereby cracking a
tile. The time, expense, & inconvenience replacing this tile was so great that we
collectively vowed to never ever let it happen again. Recently, i attempted to get competitive pricing to have my AC fixed or replaced. These heating & AC people are not in the business of arranging cranes. They will do this to honor the association, but all acknowledge that it is really un-necessary. They are quick to point out that they are fully bonded, insured etc in the event of a broken tile.
In the end, their cost of arranging the crane prices them out of the market.
Company" X" enjoys monopoly status because of his ability to obtain a crane at
little or no cost to himself. I have "heard" all kinds of hearsay pricing from
anywhere from $300-$600 for the crane alone. When I ask for a written quotation I get an attitude.I decided to forego air-conditioning this summer since I couldn't get intelligent quotations from anyone. I am seriously considering selling my unit at a reduced price to let the new owners "deal with it".

I just mounted my satellite dish on my roof. How can I prevent lightning from causing any damage to it? I'm always worried a bit when storm comes. I can only disconnect the cables from the receivers, but I can't do anything with the LNB. I don't want to call a professional, just want to create my own simple lightning rod. It would be placed near my dish.

Our family's 8-year old Kelvinator 18 cu. ft. "top-fridge" refrigerator has slowly stopped cooking over the last 2 weeks.

I first noticed it when meat, that was frozen in the freezer, began to thaw and bleed. At first, I just thought my mother was too tired to notice that she had put meat that had been unfrozen, back into the freezer. But then, other portions of meat were bleeding, and our ice cube trays were now turning back into water.

Now, it hasn't completely stopped working, but I can only imagine it's not far from it. I think the freon is slowly going out, because the freezer is now cold enough only to cool as the refrigerator used to (our milk, butter, etc. has been moved up into there).

Does anyone know what could possibly be wrong? I don't want to hire a repair man, because I can get a similar NEW fridge for $400, and the repair man is probably gonna want close to 25% of that amount, not including parts (and that doesn't gurantee he can fix it). Thanks for ANY help =)

Hi all,

I want to get a flood light or two installed along a wall by my driveway. If I had 2 installed, they would be about 10 feet apart. How much would this project probably cost? I have an older house so I am not sure how many wires are available close by to tap into.

Thanks in advance

I have a kitchen currently without the usual amenities. I'm looking for high quality without the high price. I have a small kitchen of about 150 sq ft. I have not used their installer services yet, but I'd like more input before a move ahead with the project. I guess I am looking for more pros and cons.

Cost of toilet, pedestal sink, and faucet: around $350. How much can expect to pay for labor? I was thinking of going with the Home Depot, but would I be better off finding a handyman? I live in Atlanta, GA.

Any ideas on how to move the bees into a new hive?
I live in Miami, 5 months ago honeybees (not hybrids of Africans) took up residence inside my attic. They gain entry from a small diameter eve vent hole. (I have a barrel tile roof). The hive is in the eve and is now about 4 feet wide, hanging from rafters.
I do not wish to kill the bees. All beekeepers I have spoken to want to exterminate or cut giant holes in my ceilings. Also I cannot find a beekeeper willing to crawl on his/her belly in my attic and cut out the hive.
I was told that oil of almond (artificial acetaldehyde) deters them. I tried this, but they loved it.
I am looking for a humane (bee-friendly) method to make them leave. After they leave I will plug up the eve vent holes so they don't return, and find a very small person (possible a family of garden dwarfs, Ha!) who will crawl in my attic and eat the honey. (Then I might be writing to you asking how to get rid of dwarfs in my attic, Ha!)
Seriously

Help, my room is sooooooo veryyyy hot. It is on the second floor, and the air conditior in the house sucks, because it doesn't go upstairs. What do I do? I don't want to know why my room is so hot, I just want to know how to make my room cooler. I have a ceiling fan in my room, and that doesn't help, and I know for a fact that the cieling fan is giving cool air, and not air. I have one of these long thin loud fans, that does keep me cool, but I want to be able to keep my whole room cool, and not just one spot of my room. And I don't like how it is so loud. I close the blinds and the curtains over my two windows, I don't know what to do now. Someone help me plz.

the reason i'm asking people this is because i saw a electrical fire a few years ago and since then i've always been afraid of electrical fires and how it can cause so much damage to a home or apartment. I know my house runs good electricity even though i've had a circuit breaker trip last summer but can anyone help me on this one.
