Cost of toilet, pedestal sink, and faucet: around $350. How much can expect to pay for labor? I was thinking of going with the Home Depot, but would I be better off finding a handyman? I live in Atlanta, GA.

The hard thing is the ped. I hate ped's. I have probably installed some where around 20 to 50 of them. ( have a tendency to forget bad experiences).
That being said you could do the toilet That is a super easy job. Like the one person said your Ped will be the hard thing. Your handy man probably could handle it.
The bad thing about a ped is if you aren't replacing a ped no big deal but if you are taking out a vanity there will be a shock for you waiting. You may already know that there will be some painting or wall paper work being done.
The idea of the ped part of the sink is to hide the plumbing so you can get an idea if you plumbing will need to be moved.
The height of your drain probably should be OK. You can always cut the tail piece or get an extension to make that work out. It will be your water supplies that you may feel the need to bring them close to you drain.
I did 2 on Monday and I had all the stops, supply lines, traps and I did the rough in plumbing and I would say it took me around 30 minutes to 45 min. per. I would think if you get a plumber it should take about and hour or 1 1/2 hr to do it.
But like I said I have done to many of them. I from up north so my charge most likely be different than where you are I can only tell you how long to plan on it taking. ANd remember it will take longer if extra plumbing needs to be done.

Pedestal Sinks Home Depot

Depends on the plumbing behind the sink. I replaced a drop-in sink and cabinet with a pedestal and had to move the drain and water supply pipes. Problem I have with HD or other stores doing the work is you are paying them to hire someone else to do the work. A handyman could probably handle it if he has any plumbing knowledge. I could do the job in less than two hours if I didn't need to move the pipe too much.

Most answers are close noone said anything about pulling off some drywall to insall blocking for the sink bowl useing anchors will not hold the sink for long. be ready to do some work these guys that say 1 to 2 hr,s have not done the job right, drywall, blocking, plumbing, painting ,shut off valves, pee trap, fastnig ped to floor ect, ect. Get a good handy man but not from a box store you pay to much , they get a big cut of your $ Good luck,

It's hard to say, don't know what they will run into after they get started. Depends too, on what has to be done if anything to the wall behind the pedestal sink so it looks good. My husband and I just did this in our home, it's not that hard. Don't you have a family member that could help you do it?

If it is in a sheet and has to be cut to fit the contours of the room at the walls, cut a hole just bigger than the wax ring. If you are laying tile, then clip the tiles where they butt up agianst the pipe before application of mastic / peelinging off the backing to stick the tile. You do not want the appearance of a seam around the toilet at all!! ...I get the feeling you are re- doing the bathroom floor....Go ahead and go to the home store, get another wax ring for your loo and the day you get to the part around the toilet, drain it, unbolt it and set it in the tub or on some towells out of the way. Remove the old wax ring, install the new and set your tiles / put down your flooring. Cut the hole for the pipe as you go, then re-bolt the toilet with the new ring installed....Presto! looks like a pro did it.....
