Get a strong cleaner and a sponge with water aswell. Use hot water then the glass cleaner the dry off with newspaper

All you need is some #0000 fine steel wool, and some elbow grease. This stuff is fantastic, and will not hurt or scratch the glass. Good luck!

get a sharp blade and shave it first then wash with kind of anti grease material like Aston or bleach.
