I am wondering if I can leave after shave, perfume, alcohol (beer?) in our house without heat. We will get temperatures below zero as well as below freezing outside. We will be back when the weather is quite warm so it will thaw for sure. What things must I absolutely remove? What about shampoos, household spray cleaners, bleach, toilet bowl cleaner ....please let me know every liquid or gel you think I can leave and every one I should remove!

We have plans for removing all water from the pipes and using RV antifreeze, I need lists of everything I should remove (liquids, gels, cleaners, shampoos, sprays, anything you can think of) and things I can leave (alcohol? any other liquid or gel or spray that would be ok?)

Same situation .
Bleeding pipes, water heater & RV antifreeze are the most important thing.
Generally leave behind cleaning stuff, sprays, detergents , toiletries, shampoo, gels esp in plastic containers or tubes.
Kitchen & bath liquids are left in buckets in the sinks or shower ...just in case.
Anything that got frozen hard & may have separated gets chucked in the spring.
Latex paint does not survive freezing, but solvents stay.
Beer ,wine & soda will freeze & can burst cans & bottles.
Hard alcohol seems to survive OK, but there might be some liability if kids break in & find it it.
Food items that might attract critters go,except for dry spices.

When I close up my NH house for the winter, my biggest concern is th water system. You don't need to use RV anti freeze as long as you make sure all the lines, tanks and pumps are empty. If pipes are sloped this will be easy. If not, a compressor comes in real handy. Traps are the one thing that won't drain. I use regular anti freeze in them. It is cheaper, and you don't have to worry about drinking it. Take special care with toilets. Empty the tank as much as you can. and add a little anti freeze. Same with the bowl. Toilets have a built in trap. Sponge out as much water as you can, and then pour in anti freeze. Dish washers and washing machines need to be emptied of water via their pumps. As far as house hold items, I take home things in glass containers that can freeze. Liquor won't but beer will. Most items that you would find in a bathroom, I leave there. Hope I was of help to you.

All latex paints, shampoos, liquid soaps and liquid cleaners like liquid floor cleaners, car waxes, most furnature polishes, perfumes, pre and after shave solutions, aerosols (most have a lot of water in them), floor waxes, must be removed.

Alcoholic beverages can take temperatures of about 10 deg F.

I would err on the side of caution and remove most everything.

Finally don't forget to winterize the plumbing completely and watch out for water retaining in low spots in the plumbing.
