I have a bathroom in my bedroom. My little sister was in my room playing on the computer and had to use the bathroom. Well, she didnt realize that I was out of toilet paper. She found a roll of paper towles under the sink (I use them to clean) and used one of them.

The problem is that our toilets are VERY sensitive. This happened 2 days ago. Their is nothing visablly stuck in the toilet (I plunged it and it went down) but the water still wont go down when we flush. It rises to the top and I have to turn the knob to shut the water off before the toilet over flows. After i shut the water off, i go away for about an hour, the water slowly drains from the toilet..and then i turn the water back on - let it fill up, and try flushing it again. I'm assuming that the paper towel got cloged somwhere further down than what I can see.

I dont want to tell my mom quite yet becuase my step-dad will yell at both my sister and I. (I'm 20 years old, shes 6). How can I avoid needing a plummer?

I've tried plunging and that isnt seeming to work. Should I wait a while and then try plunging again? Somebody said that within time, the paper towel will dissolve and it'll unclog. Is that true?

We have a lot of bathrooms in my house (4) so its not that big of a deal if mine isnt working for a few more days (Its an inconvience, but i didnt ALWAYS live in a house where I had my own bathroom anyways.)

Should I keep trying to re-flush after the water fills up? or should i just let it sit?

i think ***liquid bleach*** will corrode the fibers in the paper towel

the fibers at this point are already weakened from soaking in water. bleach will weaken them even further and fast too

i think this because i've seen what straight bleach can do to a sponge! good luck!

Try pouring some bleach down the toilet. That should help the paper towel dissolve faster. Let it sit a while before you flush again. Maybe an hour. That should do the trick. Good Luck

If none of the above work or you haven't time to go out and get anything see if mum has some bicarb and vinegar put some down the toilet wait till it stops fizzing then pour hot water down. It should break up the paper and then it will flush away. Don't flush until it looks like it has broken up. Keep pouring hot water in the bowl. It should slurp down, then you can flush

Sounds like you have a newer model toilet. Eventually the paper towel will fall apart enough to flush, you can fix this problem with a small snake. Your local home center or hardware store will have one and they are not expensive. The guys there will be happy to explain how to use it. This is a common problem and you are certainly capable of dealing with it.

Just, good morning, how you doing this Sunday? About the toilet: the paper towel will desolve in time, when I can't say, but you can get a bottle of drain"O" or similar product, ask for it in the hardware store, and tell them your problem. They should know. Use with caution this product, but you are smart you know how to do this, read instructions. You can also do this: take a wire coat hangar and bend a small loop at one end and try to fish out the paper towel. It worked for me. Your Friend Jimmy.

Get a long thin wire.Thinner than a coat hanger, fashion a hook on the end it should be small. Push wire hook first into the toilet it should follow the drain hole. Go as far as you can and pull out slowly. It should snare the paper towel.
Chemicals are a last resort,if they are used first you have a clogged toilet full of bleach or whatever that you have to deal with.

if you let the paper towel sit for a few days it will become soft and fall apart you may still have to plunge once and a wile but with patients it will go down. wile plunging make sure there is water in the bole to push against the towel

Go to your local hardware store and let them know the problem, they should be able to recommend a product that will dissolve the paper towel.
