Ok. I changed the bulbs, didn't help. One tube flickers about half lit, the other not at all. I was told the problem is probably the ballast. I'd prefer to fix it myself rather than whine to some man to feel sorry for me. Thanks.

Okay, so my AC went out yesterday. I called a handyman today and he supposedly fixed it. I know he changed the connector for the AC and re-filled the freeon. The unit is about 8 years old.

In any case, the temperature was in triple digits all day today in Dallas, and is 91 degrees right now. My thermostat is set at 72 degrees (i have a digital one so I know exactly what temp to set it to).

However, the temperature keeps hovering around 76-75 degrees. The unit has been running for about 12 hours now, and it still hasn't cooled down to 72 degrees. Like I said, the temp right now is 92 degrees outside. Do you think it's a problem with my unit or is this expected?

My home AC has a short-circuit. I would like to know if I could replace the 3 AMP fuse with a 5 AMP fuse? Any harm/overheating?

Thanks!

I bought a lava lamp two days ago, and at that time it was working fine. But today, i turned on the lamp and waited for the "lava" to heat up and start floating. however, within 10 minutes, the "lava" part just detached from bottom of the lamp and the whole thing was like solid wax and not liquid. Is this normal or is there a problem?

In just the last few days the floors running from the kitchen, through the dinning room, and into the family room have warped like crazy. A few weeks ago, we started using our roof-top swamp cooler again, but would that cause such a serious problem? Anyway, I need to get them fixed FAST. We are scheduled for a home inspection on the 31st to get our Fostering License, and these roller-coaster floors are not going to cut it! I know from previous floor repairs in other parts of the home that the walls are built on top of the floor boards, so I don't think I can just pull up the boards that are warped without having to take walls down - which is impossible! Please help! Any ideas for a quick and easy cheap repair would be helpful. Other than running away screaming, I just don't see what can be done!

We recently bought a new house trailer, and on the window was a piece of white colored tape. It had been there for months I assume, because now, I can't get the tape residue off the window! Its like baked on from the sun always shining on it. Anyway, I've tried lighter fluid, and nail polish remover, and nothing seems to even slightly get it off. Any ideas?! Thanks in advance...

It is due to the leakage from my bathroom. I know the first thing is to repair the leak and then brush off the fungus. But how to make sure that it will not grow again? Are there any fungicides available for this purpose?

I purchased a fisher paykel refrigerator and it does not cool properly. It goes all the way to 50 degrees at times. I have set the temperature to the coldest setting and makes no difference. The dealer brought me another one and it is the same thing. Does anyone have consumer complaints or reports on this refrigerator?

Hi, I am trying to plug in my washing machine and have noticed that my plug has a shape (4 prongs + 1 ground prong in the middle) that doesn't fit into the outlet on the wall (3 holes + 1 ground prong). Does anyone know where to find an adapter?

I am trapped in a dark room with no electricity and I lick the wall mold for my daily meal. Dont worry I still say grace before meals. I need to escape but I only have a few things in this room.

The items are:
3 quetips
A flash light with no battery
1 battery
windex
a couple of porno magz.
a picture of Britney Spears (before her head was shaved)

using these items can anyone suggest an escape method?

Last thing I remember before finding myself in this room is eating these weird looking mushrooms off of a tree near a swamp.

Dad died 2 yrs ago and before he died, he told me not to let a heavy tractor, combine or other stuff into the driveway because its over a septic system. He says there is a concrete slab over the top of it.
I have no idea how big it is or where it is. How can I figure this all out and get it filled in? How much $$ do you think it cost?

We live in a 3 story condo that has radiant heat in the celings. This past winter, even with the thermostat turned up to over 80degrees on teh 1st floor, the temperature wouldnt get above 67. The third floor was the only room which ever felt warm. Also our electric bills were over $400 a month!!
We also have central air conditioning and would like to find out more about adding onto it so it can also heat. I think it would be more efficent for our condo.
Can someone tell me if this is possible and estimated costs?
I assume I would have to contact an HVAC professional.
All of the duct work is done, so i think its just a matter of installing a heating element?

Thanks!!
