If it's just a common hood, any small watt bulb will do, 25 watt for example. I used a 60 in mine and scorched the hood above from the heat of the bulb.
There's an outside chance it's an appliance bulb like the type in the refrigerator or oven (unlikely). They are available wherever bulbs are sold, like the grocery store.
Just reach up there and unscrew it. OK, you might have to remove the cover plate.

It's probably an appliance bulb, but be sure to take it with you. Home Depot has a huge assortment of these types of bulbs. I know, because I've been a rep for GE and Phillips and actually stocked the shelves. If it's a halogen bulb, do not touch the new one with your fingers, the oil will cause it to fail, use a Kleenex

range hoods have many brands and several different bulb types
some use mini flouresent bulbs
some use little halogen bulbs {several types out there}
but most use a simple 60 watt appliance bulb
either way pretty simple to remove the bulb take it down to the hardware store and ask someone to get you a new one
