You can start by cleaning the coils behind or under the refrigerator, then check the defrost heater and timer. Next check the thermostat/cold control.

Duh, it is broken. It could be the thermostat is broken. It is time to get off your rear end and call a repairman.
First though check both the freezer and refrigerator settings. If freezer is too high it can cause a problem. Lower your settings so they are both in the middle range.
Your problem is something other than a setting if the freezing problem came out of the blue.

the refrigerator should be on 4.5 or 5...the frezzer shoulbe be around 6/7
if your refrigerator is freezing everything, turn it down a little

If adjusting the temperature knob does not work, it may well be that the thermostat is not functioning correctly, and needs replacing.
I have bought and replaced one myself without difficulty, but if you are not confident, then get help.

turn down the thermostat to cool or just cooler instead of coolest. The knob is inside the freezer.

Turn down the little dial at the top of the frig (inside)
The one that says warmer or colder;
There are two dials; one for the freezer ; one for the frig.

I think you need to turn the temperature up in it. Sounds like someone has messed with the temperature knob.
