that depends on where you live the most. but the best company that i know of for home security is ADT. They not only do theft, but also fire and co2 monitoring.
if they arnt available in you area i would sugest doing a yellowpages.com search for home security in your area.

I would also look at a major company such as ADT. Check consumer reports before you sign the contract and read all of it!!
I have used Monitronics for business loaction, and I like the alarm system componets. But the service, install and repair work are not very good.

ADT,,for sure, I have worked for them over 18 years, We are the only company that has 5 monitoring stations across the country and we are the most professional!

If you are in a crime prone area, put bars on your windows, erect a fence, and keep a dog. A dog will bark at anything suspicious, which will alert you to possible intruders or danger. It doesn't hurt to have a shotgun or handgun in your house if you are able to handle it safely and properly.
