I installed my new air conditioner as instructed in my manual. I think it may be slanted backwards a tad more than recommended. Anyways, she started up fine, but after about 20 minutes began to make a noise that sounded like the fan was rubbing on something slightly. I beleive, water is building up inside the air conditioner and not evaporating/draining properly. This is causing the fan to slosh water inside the unit.

Anyways, my questions are:
* Can this be possible?
* How can I fix the noise?
* Is this dangerous?
* Or am I just an idiot?

Thanks in advance.

Our attic fan stopped working. It could be something simple or it could be something worth the call of an electrician.

Is there anything simple I can check before calling in an electrician?

Is an electrician who you call or is there someone else?

Thanks

I have only floor air returns in my house which was built around 1950. There is a house fan which is why I assume there are no celing cold air returns. The house has trouble cooling and I am going to probably plug the house fan because during the summer its very hot to the touch and probably another source of the problem. Its a ranch with 3 bedrooms, 1 kitchen, 1 dining room and 1 family room. Basement is finished always very cool. Probably more than 5 degrees cooler. House fans dont work in Michigan when its 95 out.

The blower runs fine, I can feel the air through the vents. But the outside unit's fan does not run at all. I have tried looking online for answers, one site said something about a reset button. I would like to fix the problem myself if possible.

Because the drain is under the drive way and it's possible that they will dig the drive way to fix the broken park. I think it may cost a lot. I wonder if this problem is generally covered by the insurance. I have the basic insurance.

My storm door was installed a few months ago and when you open the door it slams closed. There is no way to adjust the air pressure in the door pump. Please help me because hearing the door slam everytime someone walks in the house is very annoying.

I have the thermostat set on 79 because it just isn't keeping up. It still doesn't keep up at 79 until the evenings when it cools off outside. The thermostat seems to be working because once it cools off, the unit kicks on and off like it should. I don't know if my ducts needs to be cleaned or if this could be a freon problem.

I have a Trane SE1000 central air unit. Along with that I have a Trane Taystat340 programmable Thermostat. I have the temperature set for 71 degrees for cooling. However, during the really hot days the thermostat never reaches the 71 degrees I have it set for, for example, we had some days that were in the 90's and the thermostat was reading 76 degrees even after the sun went down. Is this normal?? I checked the air coming out of the vents and they are around 59-60 degrees but it just doesn't seem like the house is cooling down enough.

It looks like someone put in sheetrock but did not tape or mud it before putting texture on the ceiling. It has ridges, pretty big ones, every 4 feet. Looks bad. How can I fix that short of knocking it all down and starting over? I don't know how to do the work myself and would have to hire it done if I take it down and start over. Any ideas how to make it look better? Panel it? Texture it over their texture and hope the lines don't show? Any and all suggestions welcome. Thanks.

Water is soaking into our fascia boards and making stain down the back wall of our house; roofer no1 (cheaper) says we just need the old bitumin felt under bottom row of slates near gutter replaced with new plastic-type felt. Roofer no.2 (more pricey) says we have no under-eaves supporting other slates (slate roof about 20 yrs old), which is letting the water in, so we need under-eaves added. Which guy is right??

Hi, I live in a block of flats, a neighbour upstairs had a new washing machine delivered and the old one taken away. I saw the Comet take the old appliance along our communal hallway which is made of tiles. They have scratched the floor and down some steps they have also chip the top edge of the floor tiles! They were not apologetic at all and thought it was just a joke and accidents happen! I was not impressed with their attitude and will complain to the company. They did seem careless and heavy handed. Question? Will I be wasting my time complaining to the company, they should surely pay for fixing the damage? We have CCTV evidence and witnesses.
