All the advice regarding sticking these items up will work, but the best advice i can give you is to get rid of these killers. although very good for covering bad ceilings, should you be unfortunate enough to have a fire in the room these are located, the fire will spread up to 10 time faster in most circumstances, coupled with the toxic gases these give off the chances of you and your family getting out are greatly reduced, as previously noted by another, it would be better to remove them and sand, fill cracks and paint, alternatively, you can now buy paint with sand in it that will cover the most unsightly cracks, it may also be worth contacting your local fire station and asking for advice on these tiles, in some areas i understand some councils offer grants to remove fire hazards from homes and your local "fireman SAM" will have these answers if they are available. hope this helps. do the right thing, remove them and be safe. it would be worth looking at the following site for further info. www.fireservice.co.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=3235

You can't afford not to get rid of them as they are toxic in the event of a house fire and really should be removed.

A bit of effort by your own personal self can strip these off and rub down the ceiling / fill with any good filler product and paint the ceiling.

take care theres many cracks above the tiles which is probally why they were put there in the first place.

get rid of them now. they are a big fire risk. it is better to have an unattractive ceiling than a whole house fire. Get rid and replace when you can afford. I speak from experience.

My grandad used to fix them with a special glue or resin. Go to hardware shop and get some advice.

The answers you had are right about these tiles being toxic if you (god forbid) have a fire, but they also drip in a fire, even a small fire can prevent you getting past the drips and the smoke/gas, please get rid of them!
