You should expect to find a properly operating air conditioning unit and some very humid air in your house. The evaperator should have a drain pan with a drain leading directly outside.

I presume you are in a very humid area with high dew points.

The a.c. evaporator unit is designed to remove the excess humidity as well as cool the air. It sounds like it is working as it should. Make sure you drain off the water properly which I presume you are doing.

if it is pouring water into your house and not out the drain then you have a drain issue, it will need to be taken apart or back flushed from outside, i usually use compressed air for this.

sounds OK if the air inside is really humid
