There used to be a putty product to clean wallpaper. Is there anything similar for ceilings which have stomped spackling. Washing the ceiling only makes it worse and actually washes away the spackling.

It is located at the intersection of the ceiling and wall. How do I remove it and keep it from returning. Is it possible to seal the drywall so that it will not return?

A halogen heater seems to be just a high resistance coil which generates heat when electricity passes through it. I dont understand why it is called a halogen heater. Is it because the coil is encased in a sealed halogen filled capsule that enhances the life of the coil (just like a halogen lamp).

I just had my bathroom re-done and the water pressure coming out of the shower head is horrible. Is it true that new heads have a "water saver" device that restricts the water flow? What can I do?

I have bought two tankless water heaters. The first one was defected and the company did refund my money, however not the cost for plummer and electrician. The second one I had to pick-up upon the plummers request. The electrician said wrong one but still may work. We are still taking cold showers and do not want to deal with the same contractors.
My spouse has given me one more chance to get this right or go with a regular water heater. We live in the Dallas- Ft.Worth area. Anyone dealt with a company that did both the electric and plumming? Thanks

I was given a nice wooden table with 6 chairs. It has white stains from when hot surfaces were put on it. She was told to use very fine wool and use oil with it to get it out. I have searched high and low and tried sos pads, but it doesn't work with just sos pads and oil. Does anyone else have any luck with getting white stains from hot surfaces out of wood or know where to find this fine wool without soap? Thanks in advance for your sincere kind answers.

My 3 year old son has just thrown a plastic cup at my plasma tv and it has cracked like a smashed window where he threw it.
I dont think i can claim on my house insurance as i only claimed for the same thing about 6 months ago.
Advice on what to do the screen is only 1 1/2 years old and cost over £1400.
Does anyone know anywhere in the uk that fixes them

the screen is still working, but my other screen worked for a bit when it had a crack and then the screen under the crack stopped working HELP other half is going to go mad

think my insurance only lets me claim on the same thing once a year and i only claimed 6 months ago due to the same thing ( and the same child did that one aswell )

The ceiling light in my hallway is not working. I have:
-changed the light bulb
-reset the circuit breaker - other lights on this breaker are working
-checked the wires in the ceiling - they are still connected.
-checked the wires behind the switch - they are connected
-there is another switch in the same box - it is working.
What next? This is a fairly new light fixture (6 months or so old), so I don't think it could have died already, but I don't know.

I'm in Canada and there is snow on the ground and it's about -12 outside. Do you think it would be alright to change the water in my out door hot tub. I would have to run the hose to the street and then fill it back up again. Please help! Thanks everyone.

This is a Westminster chimes mechanical clock. The chimes on the hour, half and both quarters operate 5 mins after the due time. Moving the minute pointer back does not correct it. The pointers cannot be physically repositioned on the shaft as they are keyed and can only go on in the set position. Any watchmakers out there?

I've tried a plunger and it didn't help. Could it be the flapper going down to soon. Its a Crane toilet and its only a couple of months old. When I hold the handle down it works fine every time.

Well the problem is really YUCKY! My mom went and switch the power for the fridge off and completely forgot about it. The thing is we have been having take-outs for the past 3 days and we didn't even realise that something is wrong so when I went to get some ice for my drink -- you can guess what happen here..

I FELT LIKE PUKING!Everything was like decayed and smelt.. But THE PROBLEM is that.. I had just washed the whole fridge with solutions and IT STILL STANK! And the smell is getting all over the house! So what am I suppose to do now?

I can't just 'air' the fridge cause it's gonna cause damage. And i have no freshener to spritz the fridge with.. So what now?

Please only answer this question if you can offer proper advise.

My toilet became blocked the other day, the water takes for ever to drain and when it does it drains completely so there is no water left in the pan. We have taken the loo off and there is no blockage in the toilet or the u bend we have poured buckets of water down the pipe in the floor and it is not backing up. There is nothing wrong with the sink or bath drainage. If there is no blockage in either of those places can anyone suggest what the problem could be. The only thing I can think is that there is something wrong with the toilet itself. My fella is going to get some drain rods from work on Monday but the only way he can rod it is from inside my bathroom!! as our toilet run joins onto the main run at a wierd angle and we cannot locate the manhole cover anyway? Please if you have any suggestions, we would all really appreciate it. We can't afford to call a plumber out at the minute and I've really got to go!!
