I was given a nice wooden table with 6 chairs. It has white stains from when hot surfaces were put on it. She was told to use very fine wool and use oil with it to get it out. I have searched high and low and tried sos pads, but it doesn't work with just sos pads and oil. Does anyone else have any luck with getting white stains from hot surfaces out of wood or know where to find this fine wool without soap? Thanks in advance for your sincere kind answers.

You're in luck because the product you seek is just about everywhere. You are looking for a product called triple or four "ought" steel wool and it is symbolized like this "000" or "0000". You can find this at a local home center in their paint department. You can also find this at most hardware stores too.

You can buy steel wool at Home Depot or Lowe's.
