Well the problem is really YUCKY! My mom went and switch the power for the fridge off and completely forgot about it. The thing is we have been having take-outs for the past 3 days and we didn't even realise that something is wrong so when I went to get some ice for my drink -- you can guess what happen here..

I FELT LIKE PUKING!Everything was like decayed and smelt.. But THE PROBLEM is that.. I had just washed the whole fridge with solutions and IT STILL STANK! And the smell is getting all over the house! So what am I suppose to do now?

I can't just 'air' the fridge cause it's gonna cause damage. And i have no freshener to spritz the fridge with.. So what now?

You might check the drain pan under the fridge or in the back, on top of the compressor. All the nasty run-off usually ends up in this pan and will cause the odor. If the freezer totally defrosted, the juices probably ran down into the cooling plate (evaporator). Completely defrost and air out may help. Store the food in a cooler with bagged ice. Box of baking soda will also help obsorb odor inside the fridge.

Personally, I dont' like sprays, bleach or baking soda. I really don't like the fragrance products and don't think they really work to get rid of the smells - just covers them up. I found a product that I've stayed with for years and recommend it to everyone who now love it. It's actually a little carbon odor absorber found in kitchen stores and kitchen gadget sections called FRIDGE IT. It is a little purple cube with a carbon filter inside that really, really works and for a long time. Completely fragrance free. Of course, I also use these little things everywhere including good enough to use in my refrigerator which used to really smell - but not anymore. I have been so pleased with this product and now use it under sinks, near trash, my RV, etc. I've tried other products including messy baking soda and they just do not work as well. Can buy in kitchen gadget sections of stores like Walmart and Linens and things. Maybe also on web? Worth trying. Really works

Wash the fridge out with warm water and "Dawn" dish washing liquid. After cleaning, rinse with baking soda and cool water. Then let it cool down, see what happens. It should be O.K. after cooling. Put an open box of "Arm and Hammer" baking soda in the fridge, it absorbs smells.

Did you drain the drain pan underneath the refridgerator? If you didn't it's probably where the smell is coming from. After you've cleaned the refridgerator you need to let it air out for a day or so by leaving the door open.

Make sure you've rinsed it out very well with clean hot water. this should work.
