My clog is not bad yet. But when I flush my toilet sometimes the water does not go down all the way and sometimes it does, any reason for this besides a clogged drain?

I have used both, and Drano produced far better results. However, neither was used in a toilet. The symptoms of your clog suggest a solid obstruction which impedes the water flow. You might want to try a plunger before using a snake. Also, there is a chance you might help matters by increasing the velocity of the flush; if you have a flushometer you can do this by replacing the diaphragm washer; you might also try opening the stop (valve) alongside the flushometer - a little at a time.

It's probably a clog. Don't use Drano or Liquid Plummer in the toilet! Either use a plunger or if that doesn't break it up use a snake. If you don't have a snake rent one. A snake is a flexible cord with a coil of metal at the beginning. It's the safest way to unclog a toilet or any drain especially if you aren't sure where or what the blockage is.

something may be stuck when going down - like a child's toy -

best thing I have found for a liquid surprise - is
MAIN LINE CLEANER about $10/gallon at WalMart

for me has cleaned tub, sink, and even an outside drain spout
filled with leaves

ps also heard an old wives tale of 1/4 cup liquid detergent
first

best of luck

I don't recommend Drano or Liquid Plumber for your toilet. A simple plunger should do the trick in a toilet. If a plunger doesn't work then a snake should do the trick.

Try using a plunger, do it a few times it should unclog it unless there something solid trapped in the pipe. then you may have to call a plumber. GOOD LUCK !!!

I have read that gels are the worst of all drain cleaners. try a professional grade drain cleaner.

Don't use either, purchase a product called Zep. You can get it at Home Depot. It works better and costs less.
