Help! Has anyone even heard about this type of electrical problem before? When we plugged a regular steam iron into the wall. The unit didn't work. In fact, the AC outlet went out. Also all of the connecting line that feeds into the next bedroom went out. But only from here out. The rest of the house has power. And none of the breakers trip. But it only got weirder when I started troubleshooting. My tests showed me that the HOT and GROUND was reversed! Further testing I did was to pull all of the recepticles out of the wall and change them . So now, all of recepticles are new, Then I run my tests. A sign of relief this time because now my test shows the polarity is OK. Problem solved! Then, a final test run. Now my multimeter says 115 volts! It's a Sure Ball right? WRONG!! When I started plugging the lamp.....no light. Then I plugged the TV....nothing! AGAIN with the multimeter...115 volts! YES!! There is voltage but it could not power even a light bulb. What am I missing here? HELP!

I want to run a flow and return to my garage as I want to install a radiator in there but the garage is 8 meters from my house. I don't want them to freeze in winter so how deep should I bury them or is there any insulated pipe I can buy so they don't need to be buried so deep ?

The leaks were filled with foam 2 weeks ago but the smells still continue. I am worried about the kids inhaling these unhealthy fumes. Any answers on this one would be appreciated. Thanks.

I operate an indoor karting facility. The track surface we were given was sealed and we are having difficulties in keeping the carts from sliding. We have sparingly sprayed portions of the area with additional sealer and that works great but in a couple days the tires are buffing the sealer back to a shiny, slick surface. Is there a matte finish sealer that would work? Any recommendations as to a sealer that could not be "polished" or "buffed" to a shine?

We recently purchased our home, and really want to keep the original Kitchen cabinet door pulls/handles. They are coated with several coats of paint, and we want to strip the paint, but are afraid of damaging the plastic material they are made from. What can we use to strip the paint, that will not damage the plastic ??? They are very old, probably 50-60 yrs old....Thanks !!!

Hi,
I am building my new garage. It has a gable roof with a valley attaching to the existing roof. My question is when I frame the valley, and add the support for the rafters onto the main roof. Can I just place the support wood onto the roof without removing the shingles? Or should I remove them?

Thanks for your time.

It has what looks like mold on it - dark streaks. I don't want to use anything too harsh, I just put in a landscape bed below and don't want to harm the shrubs..

When I moved here people kept saying washer and dryer should be stored in real storage. The pair I have currently are in my garage. Will they still work over time? How long can they stay before they don't work again?

My house is 10 years old and I think it'll help my electric bills, especially since one of the attic access areas has no insulation. I got an estimate of $450. My house is 2100 sq ft and two story.
