i need pipes about 1/2in in diameter and about 1.5 feet long bent in some way. Whats the cheapest way to get that done

That's a standard copper water pipe. You have two choices: rigid copper and soft copper. The soft copper you can easily bend with your hands. The rigid copper really needs to be bent with a tube bender, so it all depends on what you are trying to do. If it will not be under any stress after it is bent you can use the soft copper and just bend it by hand. Use a pipe cutter to cut it to length afterwards.

You can get short lengths of copper pipe at any home improvement center.

You can buy copper tubing at Home Depot. They would also have a tubing bender you could buy and bend the tubing yourself.

just get soft copper and try to make the bends yourself. if you end up kinking it you can get a spring bender pretty cheap.

do it yourself
goto home depot buy some soft copper pipe and a pipe spring (thell know wat i am talkin about) and you can bend it very easy
with your hands
