Nothing breaks until the warranty is out...It could be the thermostat or the heating element itself. You can see how much it will cost to put in the repair shop...or it may be cheaper to buy another basic style machine.

Roper is made by Whirlpool (as someone else pointed out) and has the exact internal working parts as the Whirlpool apart from some usually exotic features. Whirlpool has two other styles of dryers on the market as well.
Check your vent to make sure it is not blocked or kinked as improper air flow through the vent can make it seem as though there is no heat. It can also cause a thermal fuse to open and stop the unit from heating. Gas or electric the one thermal fuse is located on the heater shroud at the rear of the dryer. On gas it is the only device with two wires going to it on the shroud. On electric it is the top device on the shroud with two wires going to it. The other thermal fuse is located on the blower shroud and has a white plastic body either an oblong device or a round device with two wires going to it. On gas it will stop the dryer from heating but on electric it will stop the entire dryer from operating.
The best way to check these components is with a continuity tester or a multimeter set on ohms. With these you can test the components with the unit unplugged or disconnected from the power source so you are not exposed to the potential danger of house current.
You can also check the high limit and cycling thermostats located on the heater shroud and blower housing and the heater coils on the electric dryer. All of these devices should have continuity through the device if you do not get continuity the device is bad.
There are other things that can cause no heat since you have not indicated if it is gas or electric I could sit here and write a book and waste both of our time. If you want further assistance just click on my name and contact me and I will be glad to help you.

Is it gas or electric? I used to work as an appliance delivery person, so I might be of some use. Does it still move air? take the venting off and see if you feel the air. If its gas it might be as simple as a linkage, or the dryer may be completely shot. Generally that is a probelm with the power supply however, could just be the cord (if its electric). Those BTW are extremely simple to replace, dont pay anyone else to do it for you.

i have a roper and it's working just as well as it did when we first got it. it's about 4 years old now. i was reluctant to buy it because i had never heard of the brand before, i was told about the whirlpool affiliation and was put at ease. but try contacting the manufacturer for info

Here is their web page for customer support. It doesn't look like much. They seem to feel that you either buy an extended warranty or call one of their service centers. Good luck.

electric or gas? if its electric you can purchase new elements at a dealer for roper and most likely they basically just plug in.

try to go outside and find the vent. clean any debris from there. it may possibly be the problem & will cost nothing.
