When my washing machine empties after each cycle, it overflows the drain in the wall. I ran a plumbers snake through the pipe and found no blockage. If I shut the machine down a few times as it drains out I can keep the pipe from overflowing. Could the washer be pumping the water out too quickly? The machine is at least 16 years old.

I have a gutter that looks like it's falling down and I am thinking about calling one of those handyman services in the phone book, but I was wondering if anyone knew how much they can cost. If it costs too much then I don't want to waste my time calling them and having some guy come to my house.

My garage door is like 11 years old almost. It just dawn on me that I use to just press the remote or the button inside the garage once and the door would either open or close automatically. With one push it will open but now I have to hold the button until it closes otherwise it just dances up and down. What is up with that?

A number of duplex outlets on one side of the house were not allowing lamps to come on and the night light was extremely dim. I measured the voltage at between 26-28 volts AC. I'm not sure what could cause this

Due to the recent heat wave, we've decided to install a swamp cooler (probably in our attic). Our house is almost 100 years old. We wanted to get a feel for the cost of a swamp cooler, before calling any contractors.

Just moved to South Carolina and it's been very hot and humid. Our house is newly built and we have 2 zone cooling/heating. The A/C units are cooling fine but I want to know how often do we change out the filters and/or clean them.

We only get this smell in the summer when the air conditioner is running. I am suspecting something is wrong with the drain pain in the furnace. We have corrected a poorly installed drain line but the smell continues.

On standard 110/115 volt outlets in my house, how many watts can they handle before a fuse has a chance of blowing?(Or a breaker gets tripped?) 1000 watts? 3000 watts? 5000 watts? Or is it a variable number?

What's the avarage watt capability of circuits?
