A woodstove is a heating unit that burns wood. It will warm the house with wood and some can burn coal with the wood. They are really warm but they are dirty to burn. Yes you can remove them. In the back is a pipe that goes out of the house somewhere close to the stove. The pipe comes apart. (just be careful of the soot built up in the pipe.)If you get the soot on anything it is hard to get out. Then you lift the stove and take it out the door. This will require at least 2 people because it is heavy. My dad takes his out every spring. It's not hard.

You can take out a wood stove.

Just unhook all the stove pipes carefully so you do not get soot all over everything! Take them outside immediately.

Then you can pick up the wood stove and carry it out. Maybe you and six good strong guys!

Then you have to put a metal cover over the hole in the chimney where the stove pipe was. If you have a hardware nearby, that store might have such a thing as a chimney hole cover. Otherwise, check the internet for one.

How come you have a woodstove and don't know what it is?

They are easy to remove, remove the chimming parts- but have a cover for the hole left by the removal of the Chimmy, handy.
One or two people can move it out- use a Dolly if you can- They have value, so dont't throw it away, sell it- but think it over before you do this- Heating is getting more and more expensive with any fuel now days- and remember if all power goes out nothing will work, but the Wood stove will.
