NO! definitely not. sounds like your pump is burning out. You might have a clogged pipe or be pumping air

Depends on the temperature of the air when the pump is on. Run it during the heat of the day and the motor will definately burn you when you touch it. For longer motor life run it all night. But is NORMAL for it to run HOT.

Probably clogged inlet or outlet. Check pressure gauge to see if it's operating normally. Check also if the pump motor fan is working, this cools the pump.

mine runs hot like that during the day time but at night it cools down some it's bout 5 years old now and working great.

No, check and make sure that it is pumping water and that it is not making loud noises like the bearings.

No, there is a problem some how. It should be cool to the touch.
