The house I'm looking to buy has it's own private water supply through a well. I want to tap into a nearby subdivision's supply instead. I'm looking for potential costs, as well as who to contact to do it? Thanks in advance!

I dont know if this is smoke-- but it sure looks like it. Smoke or steam. Anyhow-- If my A,.C. is turned on for a while-- after about 4 or hours or so it will turn off by itself. Yesterday-- it was on all night.. and then at the top( where the vents are) steam/smoke started coming out.

Is this bad?

We're trying to find out how important an ad in yellow pages is for an emergency flood company. Or, do people just called their insurance and use whoever they recommend?

We are sellers with a 12 year old house. It is in great condition besides the carpet and two of the windows. The carpet is original and has had two sets of children raised on it. Some of the rooms are great, but others have significant staining. The other thing I was wondering about is the black marks on the windows. They are caused by condensation in the winter. We have repaired one but there are two others that have black marks on them. They are not rotten, just stained. Will this be something that we will most likley need to take care of?

It was serviced 2 months ago and worked fine, but then the compressor died so we had a new one installed. I get very cool air coming out of the vents but it just doesn't seem cold enough. We've had crazy high temps lately and when it gets to be 105 outside I can't get the air inside the house to be less then 84 even though the unit runs night and day and is set at 70. The house is only 6 years old also so it's not because of it being old with drafty, poorly insulated windows. I don't recall having this problem last summer and it got pretty hot then too. Any idea what could cause this?

Im renting in a condo complex and the central air does'nt work and the landlord won't fix it. I have an older window unit from my previous apartment, however the condo association doesn't allow window units. I want to try running the window unit in the upstair hallway with the exhaust towards the air return for the central air.

Would it be easy and/or cheap to fix or should I just buy another?

I am having a yard sale tomorrow & just thinking about getting rid of it, would $15 or $20 be a fair price for a parts machine? ( it is only 3 years old & was bought new) ..thanks.

i bought a Corrego kitchen sink UPC number NSF 61/9. i hooked it up and everything was fine until i noticed the on/off/hot/cold/handle (as i call it, i dont know the real name) was leaking. it was hooked up correctly, but the on/off part was really loose, that was the part that started to leak. i put in everything right, i think, and it snapped in place, but still leaked.

My air conditioner & furnace were installed June 2005. It was working perfect last year, set on 68 all summer and did not see inside temp go up and it was very comfortable. this year, it was checked twice, they fixed something the 1st time (something got frozen and added freon), they still can't find anything, It is very uncomfortable inside the house. I have a split system and I noticed that if both 1 & 2 are both on the thermostat, the temp inside the house goes down really slow, like 2 degrees per hour, my PG&E bill got doubled this month. Any idea what else they can check that I think they are missing why inside temp going up so much? They keep saying we never had summer for 3 years. I stil wanna know why it's going up. Not sure if connected but I had air duct cleaned after installation.

I hear of poeple putting up screens in some way to keep sun from beating down on the compressor all day. I also have heard people setting up misters to spray on the AC unit. What have you done? My electric bill for a small house, two poeple, brand new house was $300 last month.
