I am trying to root a snipping of my spider plant. What's the best way to do it?
I'm kind of a n00b when it comes to plants, I just recently got interested.
The bigger plant looked kind of like this:

We have large evergreen trees in front of our house. Some branches are turning brown and dying, not sure what nutrients are needed.

The dragon flies that are in my yard are a blue color, almost the color of the next button on this screen. Anyhow, at almost any given moment there are at least ten hovering around in just the front yard. I look around at the neighbors yards and there are none in theirs. I always thought dragon flies ate insects, however, I have been very diligent with putting insecticides out, particularly to rid my yard of ants.

They take up an area of approximately 1m x 0.5m. When in bloom they are lovely but the rest of the time I have a big bare patch along the wall where they are situated. I know they dont like to be moved and wouldnt want to as it was my gran's garden that she left to me in her will and they were her fave flower, but I'm wondering if there's anything I can plant in this area that will have finished flowering before the peonys come up and that will not interfere with them?

I am planning on putting in a cutting garden and I'm looking for recommendations for flowers. So far I think I'll have some Daffodils/Narcisuss & tulips for Spring, Peonies, Poppies & Asiatic Lilies for June and Oriental Lilies for July. I will also put in some Foxglove, Cleomi and some Cone Flower. I would like some idea for other flowers, especially those that bloom later in the Summer and into the Fall.

I am planning on putting in a cutting garden and was looking at some catalogues yesterday. All the flowers I was interested in needed well drained soil and I am pretty sure the area I will be planting in has pretty heavy clay soil.

I have heard that if you just dig out the clay and replace it with compost you create basically tubs that do not drain well. So I need to know how best to improve the drainage. I am looking to fit the area in Aug-Sept for planting in late Sept or Oct.

I have several varieties of tomatoes and they have started to crack before they become ripe. We have had a lot more rain this year than usual, and I think that may have something to do with it, but could there be something else.

The rainwater in it is causing oxides to come through and make it a red colour.
