Okay, I want a garden that people stop and look at and say, "Wow, I would have never thought to use those flowers/vegetables/trees/fruit next to each other. It looks awesome". I want something bold and daring, but something that looks good together. I have convolvolus (dwarf morning glorys) and Canterbury bells. (The Canterbury bells are pinks and purples). What would go good with these?

I have to roses that are simply eaten by plant louse. I am not sure this is the name of those tiny creatures that create something like a spider net on the plants leafes. I found in the dictionary aphid; plant louse; greenfly. Is there any of you which has such a "home made" method to kill those plant louse without spending a fortune on it?

When I purchased my house, I noticed that there were rocks buried beneath the flowerbed. My uncle said they could be there to help drainage, but I have never heard/read anything like this. Should I dig them out or leave them. Here's a picture: http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p294/michelle1908/DSCN0826_cropped.jpg

I have taken down a very ugly fence and would like to skirt my yard with some bushes/trees/hedges for privacy.

Is there something nice-looking and inexpensive that can stand up to harsh New England winters?

Thanks!

What are they? Sternbergias?
I have seen them called both "winter daffodils" and "autumn crocus"

I would like to grow yellow squash, bell peppers, banana peppers, green beans, cucumbers, tomatoes, okra, radish and watermelon (anything else that can grow in SC besides CORN?) Any help would be appreciated.

Can tulips be planted in March or do I have to go all the way back around to Jan. of next year? I've kept them in the refrigerator to keep them from sprouting but they have a little.

We're about to take over an allotment and need some simple, practical advice on how to grow veges etc. I remember seeing a book a while back that told you what you should be doing in each month of the year - that looked really helpful but of course I can't find it now! Does anyone have any recommendations for a similar helpful book? cheers.

My problem is that the backyard is only about 30/20ft. and half of it is wood decking. The other half is wood chips and mud and I have 3 small dogs and if it rains at all thier small paws go through the wood chips and get very muddy. To compound the problem my back door is off of my bedroom so the minute I let them in they jump on my bed w/ muddy paws and track the mud all over my small 700sq ft. living space. So, what I would like to know w/ out wasting more money on solutions that have proved to not be helpful is how can I create a MUDLESS backyard? Something besides grass becasue that hasn't worked and I don't want astro turf either - any suggestions besides getting rid of my lovely dogs?

I just planted a small 1/4 in diameter Meyer lemon and it is about 1 1/2 foot tall, but it is just one straight tree with no side branches. Should I clip the top of it to force side branches to start? I prefer for it too be more on the bushy side rather than tall. It is not a dwarf.
