no. all trees have sap.
sap is a mixture of mostly water and various nutrients, proteins, chemicals, sugars and starches. other than water sugars are the biggest part of sap. there are more than one kind of sugars and typically the sugars in the sap is not the same as sugar you can eat. plants get energy faster from sugars than anything else which is why the cells prefer it. some cells sole purpose is to convert things into sugars so that other cells do not have to.
sugar is also sticky which is why sap is sometimes sticky. each plant has different mixtures of of things in their sap and it also varies due to the time of year and what the plant is doing, ex. flowering or preparing for winter dormancy.

I never see sap with my lilacs, and they're 20 feet tall so I consider them a tree.
