i am in neighboring Preston County and grow abundant crops of tomatoes and potatoes.

Yes they can both grow well in West Virginia. People in that State have grown their own for YEARS!!! I have relatives there that grow their own gardens every year and they have alot of tomatoes and potatoes!!! They live in Hartford and New Haven!!!
