Why can't plant markers use the same language about light requirements?

sun/part shade: does this mean morning sun and THEN afternoon shade? or it will grow in either sun or shade? What if there is a dash instead of the vergule sign?If it says sun, I suppose it means full sun also?

Sounds like you're frustrated! If it says sun/part shade, it means "some sun but partly shade". If there's a dash, it menas "the sun requirement is partly shade".
