Depends on if the cat hates dogs and if the dog thinks that the cat is a threat in some way. Some breeds of cats and dogs actually get along together fine.

If the dog is not running loose and the cats have access to the sand, think you mean sandbox, yes the cats love sand and will pee in it. if is sandbox, keep covered when not beoing used. we had cats pee in pile of sand had in yard for cement work.

Some dogs don't care if a cat is in the area. If you are talking about a sandbox for the kids, just get a cover for it. This not only keeps the cats out, it keeps it dry.

wow.. that could be like a really deep riddle.

kinda like: if a tree falls in the woods and no one hears it, does it make any noise?

but I digress.

cats prefer sand to pee in. If the dog chases them away every time before they can do so.. I guess they'll stop.

good luck.

I dont think of you're able to do something approximately your plant existence ect, except you progression them to a distinctive spot like in the front backyard (in case you have one) yet purely verify you have holes in the fence and stuff lined up. And as for tough play, you will get them some outdoors toys from them to play with, like tennis balls, and different stuff.
