Hi new to bulbs. I just bought some Hollyhock bulbs or tubers from Costco (haven't opened yet, didn't know hollyhocks were sold this way in a package?) I live in zone 8- Texas, will they bloom this year?
Also, I bought gladiolus and lily bulbs too. Altogether I have close to 120 bulbs planted. Is this enough for an average suburban lot? I have them planted in the front and the backyard. Do I need to buy more or is this a good amount of flowers? What's the success ratio for bulbs?
Thanks

These are the red ants about 5/8 inches in lengt which have formed a nest and colony on one of the ferns in the garden and they seem to be spreading to the neighbouring plants.

I am in the process of buying a house that sits on wooded property. I am looking for methods of reducing/controlling the population of biting insects so that we can enjoy being outside on our land. Any ideas aside from the obvious "wear repellent"?

Specifically. I have a large brick planter in the front yard that is approximately 8'X25'. The area is planted with schrubbary that is literally being overrun with vines. Roundup does not help. I think the vines actually like it because it doesn't slow them up a bit. I have been told I may have to take the planter out but that seems pretty drastic and I was wondering if there is a better way. Thanks

In my town, we make the acorn pie out of real acorn still. I don't know how you can eat your city fold acor pie with fake acorn, but i need the real stuff. Anywayz, how can I get the acorns on the top of the tree down? We can only pluck the lower level acorns from the tree, but the bastardish squirrels always get the top ones. This year I want to beat the squirrels at their own damn game. I love me that pie. Help would be thanked by jesus. Thank you in advance. God Bless.

I just planted my zoysia grass today, and we have an acre of land...we got so tired of doing the itty bitty pieces of plugs like they told us to and the pallets they ship you we ended up cutting them into 4 sections rather than 150 like it said it could do. We ordered 1900 plugs. Do you think it will work just as well? I dont understand how anyone has patience to do all of those little plugs.

I had some tomato seedlings that were doing really well, about 4-5 inches high and 3-4 sets of leaves. Tonight they have fallen over. Am I giving them too much water or not enough? They are in 4" peat pots and feel dry when I stick my finger in it, but I'm not sure if there is some moisture down further. I'm in Utah so the air is dry here and they were in a south facing basement window, so not too much direct sunlight, but some. Help?
