About a year ago I received a very large Christmas cactus and it was very full. Gradually many of its limbs have fallen off to about a tenth of what it was. I know nothing about them except to not overwater them and no direct sun light. I was ready to toss it out because I thought it was a goner, but then it actually bloomed the most beautiful bright pink blooms at Christmas. Now the blooms are gone but it still looks in eally sad condition. It has a handfull of very long stems (about 18-20" long) that droop. Anything I can do to liven it up? Is there a way to cut it back and if so will it produce new stems? Instrucitons will be helpful.

We have a new Limestone Rock Border Around our Rose Bushes and The rose bushes are already on a 1 foot raised rock wall. We need to fill in the cracks between the new limestone border and i was pondering what might look better, River rock(free from river, except u pay for it when hauling it up the hill) or red mulch, maybe cedar mulch. thanks

Does anyone even know what kind of tree this is? If you don't, I'll tell you that it is a magnificent-looking tree that grows anywhere up to 150 to 200 feet. The trunk of the tree is gnarly because its nothing but killer thorns to keep damage from happening to the trunk. (Talk about evolution.) The thorns are like rose-bush thorns on steroids, but the tree itself can be a spectacular addition to a big yard. Anyhow, I have some seeds and I'd like to know if anyone has some info on how to proceed. If you are interested, here's a link to follow if you want to know what it looks like;

The previous owner of our property planted trees...he planted them on our towns property...about 2 feet over the property line. We bought the home 8 years ago and the trees have grown since. The trees are dangerous because big limbs keep falling off them on to our property. Should I ask the town to cut the trees down? These trees are half rotten.

I want to plant a shade garden in my front yard what plants do you reccomend? I have a good sized maple tree that this will be next to. I was planning on using some hostas but what else would look nice? Also, if it's important I'm in northern Virginia. Thanks!

She has had this little peach tree for about 4 or 5 years. It is still small, a little shorter than me, but it was still big enough to produce a dozen or so small peaches.

However, last year it didn't produce any and didn't even grow any leaves, and this year it looks to do the same. Its branches seem dried out.

It probably is dead, but I have no idea why. My mom said she placed some ashes from her fireplace around the base of the tree to fertilize it. Could that have killed it?

Anyone have any advice? Thanks!

Holy cow. I was outside in my yard this morning with both my sons and found two things....
#1-I found a hole on the top of my carport that yellow jacket bees were flying into.Im talking like at least five at a time. I can't afford a exterminator. How can I remove these bees on my own? I don't have any type of equipment either( The only thing I got is a lawnmower and a vaccume cleaner.)
#2- So I see this huge bumblebee--it was mostly black and yellow, much bigger than a yellow jacket and they were flying into carport holes too. I then filled it up with this product called great stuff to close the holes. My questions are for both
#1-What is a cheap/affordable/and safe way of removing these bees?#2-What products would you reccomend for repelling bees?(I tried a hanging bee trap-where they enter but cant leave, but it did not work cause I still saw bees coming around it but not entering it.) #3- Yellow Jacket bees are entering my home-dont know from where they are coming. HELP!

I have a nice petit rosemary bush in a pot, my mom has been taking care of it. I read from other posters that it likes dry soil. Well it's dry! Some of the braches are really dry with little green. The frongs are falling off it touched.

Here is a pic:
http://sarasotacurves.com/DSCF2004.JPG and http://sarasotacurves.com/DSCF2005.JPG

The pictures look greener than it is. Should I cut back some of the more dead branches and what ones do I save?

Should I fertilize it once for the year now to help it regenerate? This plant lives in Florida. Thanks!
